Terms of Service

Last updated: April 12, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BookUnfold service operated by Chi Lung Yung, a sole proprietorship based in the Netherlands ("we," "us," "our"). By placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

BookUnfold is a productized service that generates marketing assets from non-fiction ebooks. You submit an ebook in PDF format, and we deliver a package of marketing assets (including but not limited to sales page copy, email sequences, social media content, ad copy, lead magnets, blog content, webinar scripts, and headlines) derived from your book's content.

2. How It Works

  1. You purchase the service at the listed price via our payment processor (Stripe).
  2. You submit your ebook as a PDF file through the intake process provided after payment.
  3. We process your ebook through our proprietary AI system and generate your marketing asset package.
  4. We deliver the completed asset package to you, typically within 48 hours of receiving your ebook.

3. Requirements for Submission

To ensure quality output, your submitted ebook must meet the following criteria:

  • Non-fiction content (business, self-help, coaching, professional development, health, finance, leadership, or similar).
  • Minimum 5,000 words.
  • PDF format, with text that can be read digitally (not scanned images of text).
  • Written in English.
  • You must own the rights to the submitted content or have authorization to use it for this purpose.

We reserve the right to decline orders that do not meet these criteria. In such cases, a full refund will be issued.

4. Pricing and Payment

The current price for the BookUnfold service is listed on our website. All prices are in Euros (EUR). Payment is processed securely via Stripe. Full payment is required before we begin processing your ebook.

As a Netherlands-based business serving international customers: VAT may apply to orders from customers within the European Union, in accordance with applicable EU VAT rules. If VAT applies, it will be communicated at the time of purchase.

5. Delivery

We aim to deliver your marketing asset package within 48 hours of receiving your ebook PDF. Delivery timelines may vary based on current order volume. If we anticipate a delay beyond 48 hours, we will notify you by email.

Assets are delivered as a ZIP file containing organized markdown (.md) text files. Markdown is a plain text format that can be copied into any email platform, content management system, social media scheduler, or ad manager.

6. Capacity

BookUnfold processes a limited number of books per month to maintain quality standards. Orders are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If capacity is reached for the current month, we will either place your order in the queue for the following month or offer a full refund, at your choice.

7. Intellectual Property

Your ebook: You retain all rights to your submitted ebook. We do not claim any ownership, license, or rights to your original content. Your ebook file is deleted from our systems within 14 days of delivery.

Generated assets: The marketing assets we generate from your ebook are yours. You receive full, unrestricted rights to use, modify, publish, and distribute the generated assets in any way you see fit. No attribution to BookUnfold is required.

Our system: The proprietary AI system, skills, knowledge bases, and processes used to generate your assets remain our intellectual property. The purchase of the BookUnfold service does not grant you any rights to our underlying technology or methodology.

8. Quality Guarantee and Refunds

We stand behind the quality of our output. If the delivered assets do not meet the quality standard demonstrated by the sample outputs on our website, you are entitled to a full refund.

To request a refund under this guarantee:

  • Contact us at hello@bookunfold.com within 14 days of delivery.
  • Briefly describe how the output falls short of the demonstrated standard.

Refunds are processed through Stripe and typically appear within 5 to 10 business days.

Please note: the assets are generated from your book's content. If your ebook contains limited frameworks, methodologies, or structured content, the output quality will reflect that. We reserve the right to assess refund requests on a case-by-case basis where the input material was insufficient as described in section 3.

9. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)

Under EU consumer protection law (Directive 2011/83/EU, implemented in the Netherlands as Wet van 21 juni 2014), you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. However, because BookUnfold delivers digital content that is custom-produced for you, the right of withdrawal expires once we begin processing your ebook. By submitting your ebook for processing, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Performance of the service begins immediately upon receipt of your ebook.
  • You expressly consent to the commencement of performance within the withdrawal period.
  • You acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once processing begins.

This does not affect your rights under our quality guarantee (section 8).

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to submit content that:

  • You do not own or have authorization to use.
  • Contains illegal, defamatory, or harmful material.
  • Infringes on the intellectual property rights of third parties.
  • Contains malicious code or files designed to damage our systems.

We reserve the right to refuse service and issue a refund if submitted content violates these terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

BookUnfold provides marketing assets as a creative service. We do not guarantee any specific business results, revenue, or outcomes from using the generated assets. The effectiveness of marketing materials depends on many factors outside our control, including your market, audience, offer, and execution.

To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the specific order in question.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for damages caused by intentional misconduct (opzet) or gross negligence (grove schuld) on our part, in accordance with Dutch law.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of our service shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.

For EU consumers: you may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Existing orders are governed by the Terms in effect at the time the order was placed.
